Under the influence of the tea masters from the 16th century, the design language of tea bowls and tea ceramics developed into this unique design language. At that time, the ceramists had started to develop the tea ceramics according to their wishes and specifications. The models from China and Korea were soon developed further. In the process, their own firing techniques, glazing and kilns were devised, which lead to unique and unrepeatable objects. Mentioned is the Raku ceramics, which is characterized by unintentional design.
For Western viewers, the tea bowls may seem rather clumsy or "simple", but if you get involved with this type of ceramics, a completely new world can appear. A new way of seeing and experiencing is necessary for this.
