Fusuma
What Are Fusuma?
Just like Shoji, Fusuma are movable partitions. However, they consist of opaque panels that are traditionally painted or covered with decorated paper. Fusuma are primarily used as room dividers and cabinet doors, but they can also be adapted for other purposes, such as window elements and room screens.
In addition to painted or printed paper, modern adaptations can incorporate other materials, such as fabrics or various types of woven materials.
